On 26 January 2022, Policy Forum (PF), a network of over 60 Civil Society Organisations augmenting the voice of ordinary citizens to influence policy processes to reduce poverty, promote equity and democratisation focusing on public money accountability at the Central and Local levels and The Local Government Training Institute (LGTI) a statutory public institute established under The Local Government Training Institute Act signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Dar es Salaam whereas both parties wish to improve the performance of the Local Government Authorities in the country through the provision of training, research and consultancy.

The partnership between the mentioned entities is meant to strengthen and further develop cooperation in the local government field believing that such collaboration would contribute to the improvement of the performance of local government administrative staff and political leaders in all working sectors.

The scope of the MoU will cover matters related to social accountability monitoring elements in the available local government administrative staff and councilor’s training manuals, studies which may be used to improve the local government administration and management, outreach program and community engagement services to local government authorities and simplifying policy documents into simple language and communicate to the relevant stakeholders.
