Policy Forum Board of Directors is delighted to announce the election of Namwaka Omari-Mwaikinda of WaterAid  Tanzania as the new Chairperson of the network and of Israel Ilunde of Youth Partnership Countrywide (YPC) as Vice Chairperson. Ms. Omari-Mwaikinda, Director of Policy at WaterAid succeeds Nemence Iriya of  Macsnet. Policy Forum would like to convey its gratitude to Nemence Iriya. His guidance and knowledge have brought in enormous benefits to the organisation in his spell as Chairperson

Prior to working with WaterAid Tanzania, Ms. Omari-Mwaikinda was with Oxfam Ireland as the Gender Programme Consultant helping the organisation to strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations to enhance gender justice.

"Her gender work experience will help Policy Forum as the network works to unlock the potential of gender mainstreaming in its work," said Semkae Kilonzo, the Coordinator, adding that "she also worked at the Policy Forum Secretariat as the Policy and Advocacy Officer so has a clear understanding of our work.

Ms. Omari-Mwaikinda also has previous experience as a Policy Analyst with the Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) where she was tasked with shaping and influencing the direction and content for evidence based policy development.
