Policy Forum expresses deep concern over the loss of lives and human rights violations that occurred in the aftermath of the 2025 General Election. We mourn with fellow Tanzanians for those who lost their lives and extend solidarity to all affected families.

We are alarmed by credible reports of excessive use of force by police and security agencies against civilians. Such actions undermine public trust and contradict the duty of law enforcement to protect citizens and uphold the rule of law.

Accountability and justice are essential for restoring public confidence in state institutions. We call for transparent and independent investigations into the violence and for those responsible to be held to account through due legal process.

As a network dedicated to promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance, Policy Forum urges renewed commitment to human rights, civic participation, and democratic values as the foundation for lasting peace and national unity.
