Multi-stakeholder Group (MSG) of the TEITI launched the second EITI report which shows among other things that Tanzania received more than USD 300 million from the mining sector in 2009/2010 up almost three times of the reported revenues for the previous year.

The report also represents a step forward from the first report published one year ago including gas revenues being covered for the first time.

Also 24 oil, gas and mining companies have now disclosed their payments more than double as many as in the previous report.

However, the report still highlights gross discrepancies of almost 18% and a net discrepancy of 3%.

The discrepancies are many due to the failure of two companies not reporting. For more information please see the below attached documents.
