Policy Forum, in collaboration with Kanumba the Great Films, proudly wishes to present the 'Kijiji cha Tambua Haki' Film.

Offficiating a promotional session of the film at the Regency Park Hotel on the 8th February 2012, Mr. Hebron Mwakagenda, the Convenor of the Policy Forum Local Governance Working Group (LGWG) said the Kijiji cha Tambua Haki Film aims at educating the society on good governance and social accountability at local and national level.

He said, Kijiji cha Tambua Haki demonstrates that by enhancing the capacity of ordinary citizens to have information and knowledge about their rights, voice their needs, monitor government actions and demand accountability, service delivery can be improved. He said the film also aimed at the showing citizens the importance of demanding transparency from their local authorities especially on issues of how public money is acquired and spent. "Citizens should have greater voice in how their resources are prioritized and allocated," he stressed.

Mr. Mwakagenda said that as a network of civil society organizations, Policy Forum sees governance and accountability as the basis at which poverty reduction can be tackled and that is why activities of the organisation are geared towards promotion of the same through media such as films.
