Applies her Project Management skills and 8 years of experience in Communications Technology to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions to improve learning outcomes for young people in Africa. Iku headed the design and delivery of Tanzania’s premier mobile revision platform allowing young learners to learn and interact with a virtual teacher through Short Messaging Services.

She is passionate about youth and the potential of young people to drive positive and lasting change in Africa, Iku transitioned from the traditional corporate sector to set up Shule Direct, a leading Education and Technology social enterprise that leverages existing technologies to improve access to qualified, relevant and digital learning resources for young learners, delivering them through web and mobile platforms.

A tech-enthusiast and a product of learning in the digital era herself, Iku believes that teaching and learning must evolve with the technological advancements to make learning adaptive, responsive and inclusive to prepare our children and youth for a sustainable future by providing them with relevant knowledge and skills, anytime and anywhere.
