Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa (OSIEA) is organizing a publicity event on 3rd April, 2014 to be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dar es Salaam. The event labeled ‘OSIEA DAY IN TANZANIA” will be a showcase event of our work in the country. The audience will include the media, government representatives, development partners, members of the diplomatic community, youth representatives and civil society colleagues.

Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa (OSIEA) Tanzania office was opened in 2011 and has gradually built presence in the country through the work of its grantees and partners on issues around human rights and good governance. OSIEA would therefore like to take a moment to formally introduce the organization to the Tanzanian public but also build a platform through which all partners can come together, familiarize and learn from each other.

From 1230 – 1830 there will be a publicity/information booths showcasing event by our grantees with publications, handouts, reports and many other relevant materials related to their work.

From 1430 – 1630, concurrent with the showcase event (exhibition), there will be a panel discussion themed “The Constitution Review Process in Tanzania: what is at stake”.  The panel of Tanzanian experts on constitution will seek to highlight developments in the constitution review process and examine the potential outcome of the process at the constituent assembly stage. The discussions will bring together experts in the region, members of the constitution review commission, media, development partners and practitioners to collectively reflect on the process.

From 1630 – 1830, OSIEA will host a cocktail event for you, giving you an opportunity to network and interact with other partners and stakeholders in the country.
